European Tour

Sorry for the vast delay in updates!

Starting off in Paris I rushed to the office to pick up my seven boxes of brochures, drag them in a cab and then again drag them sad pieces of stone to the fair. After having no food since breakfast I committed a gastronomical harakiri at 7 pm. and had McDonalds. Shame on me. Following up with drinks with E until midnight to ensure a hangover the first day at work was a great start on the tour...

My hotel was more of a hostel really and I spent as much time as I could away from it. of course wireless Internet there was more of a joke so I spent a morning in a bar shooting emails. Friday and Saturday were well spent working at a fair with, in all honesty, quite many fair women!Champagne for lunched helped as well. I then successfully dumped 80% of my brochures at the fair. Very good start of the Saturday.

The evening went on to be a grand event. Local hero Mr Biis took me to a heavy metal bar where women in black leather served fantastic steaks. (yes, this place really exists) We had a 3 liter keg of Heineken to that and could not help laughing loudly at the couple next to us two drunks having a petite dinner with small glasses of wine :-) We then continued to another bar, and looking at the receipts, we also ate once more and took a taxi during the evening. Splendid night.

Paris, as beautiful at it can be, was a rainy adventure. Crap weather basically all week. Also entertainment wise it was an up and down week, all categories. I finished the gastronomic adventure with having the worst sweet and sour chicken ever, alone at a shitty diner. That felt really jet-set and glamour. Jet speed, sweat and no glamour to the toiles minutes later came as no surprise... I was quite happy to Salute Mr and Ms Biis and fly to Barcelona and the sun.

Well landed in Barcelona the sun was up and I decided to work from the mobile office for a couple of hours. That is, sending the occasional email from the Blackberry whilst enjoying a pint in the sun.

Now, I acually did work a bit as well. A succesful fair, a random visit to the Uni of Barcelona, info session etcetera bla bla bla. Who cares, not you for sure. What really mattered was that the mighty reds triumphed against Real Madrid with a total of 5-0. I sang YNWA with my new found scouser friend Andy, smiling from ear to ear wilst getting really hammered.

Next to us sat a bunch of lads who supported Manc wank. They actually had a fun song to sing back at us, referring to the scousers historic inability to get a job anywhere else in England. To the tunes of YNWA they sang; sign on, sign on, with hope in your heart - you'l l never work again! Pfffff..... In the bar was also a Greek guy who was convinced that Panathinaikos would win the CL. I am still a bit surprised that the verbal slaughter combined with laughter I gave him did not render me a beating..

This time the hotel actually was class. Had an old man carry my bloody boxes. Fab stay it was, in many ways. I wish I could have motivated a longer stay.

I have now embarked on my own Giro d'Italia, more about that soon.

Cheers!

P\
