The Builders Arms

Two days now in London and here is a brief update of the parts I remember;

I arrived at Heathrow on time, not exactly in great shape due to a grand farewell booze evening with the usual suspects, and went to meet the landlord. Funny chap it was, a real original with a wicked hat and a weird friend to accompany him. Luckily for me I was accompanied by a friend as well, we can call him Frenty Bogos. We sorted the business with the odd partners and got started drinking.

The flat is conveniently located 50 metres from 'the Builders Arms', a great pub where I will likely spend countless hours as well as pounds. From that pub to the next it is approximately 150 metres. By the time we left the second pub we were well hammered and continued on to Sophie's, bar X, Y, Z and 42 ( I have no idea what they are called), finishing with a full English at 01.00 before stumbling home in the pouring rain.

Having dealt with the first London drunkenness, Frenty and I had no problems wandering around the bars of Chelsea today whilst getting things for the flat. The circle was closed at the Builders Arms with a nice set of Heineken.

Impressions so far; fab neighbourhood, surprisingly good weather and great bars! Very promising.

On tomorrow's plate is the first day at work and the Merseyside derby. Fingers crossed for both!

Over and out,

P
